About Us
C Doctor was founded in 1915 by brothers Chinubhai L. Mehta and Vadibhai L. Mehta, both visionary entrepreneurs with deep roots in Gujarat’s industrial and social fabric. Vadibhai L. Mehta, a follower of Mahatma Gandhi, was a firm believer in the philosophy of Trusteeship, which he elaborated in his book Equality through Trusteeship. This guiding philosophy remains integral to C Doctor’s business ethos. Initially, the two brothers ventured into textile mills and starch manufacturing, rapidly expanding their operations. Recognizing the need for a dedicated marketing organization, they established C Doctor & Co Pvt Ltd. In the 1940s, the company forged a strategic partnership with Bahnson, USA, to distribute humidifiers in India, laying the groundwork for future industrial collaborations. By the late 1950s, C Doctor had launched its own manufacturing unit under the name C Doctor India Pvt Ltd, formerly Industrial Machinery Mfrs Pvt Ltd, marking a significant step in domestic production of humidification equipment.
Following a family division in the 1980s, Mr. S.V. Mehta, son of Vadibhai L. Mehta, took charge of the company's engineering business, steering its growth with his father’s values. Between 1980 and 1985, C Doctor India Pvt Ltd forged manufacturing alliances with several global firms, including Air Technology Inc., USA; Sturtevant Engineering Company, UK; Hi-Vac, USA; Ishigaki Mechanical Industry Company Ltd, Japan; and Karl Fischer GmbH, Germany. By the late 1970s and early 1980s, the company had begun undertaking turnkey projects, further expanding its expertise. In the new millennium, C Doctor India Pvt Ltd honed its focus on specialized factory products such as Industrial Fans and Blowers, Heat Exchangers, and Industrial Vacuum Cleaners. In 2008, CB DOCTOR Ventilators was formed to manufacture specialized Industrial Fans and Blowers, leveraging technology from Industrie CBI, Italy, and Ventmeca, France. Upholding world-class standards, C Doctor continues to evolve as a leader in industrial solutions.
